Description

The four pillars that are part of the National Honor Society program are: Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character.  To earn membership, students should have a 3.5 GPA and completed 3 semesters at HHS (scholarship).  Some community service should be completed during students’ years at HHS (service).  We are suggesting about 10 per semester, which is the requirement for continuing membership in the NHS.  Students should also look for some leadership positions (leadership).  These can be sports captain, band section leaders, other extracurricular activities, Class Council to name a few.  Character is shown by following the 3 Rs both in and out of school.  If you have questions you can reach out to the National Honor Society email nhs@hartlandschools.us and we will get back to you within a week.

How does the process work?

Anyone meeting those criteria will be given an invitation letter to in February and invited to apply.

Students will complete the application and submit it.

A faculty advisory committee will review all applications.

Scholarship, Character, Leadership and Service are all taken into account.

Students will be notified of their acceptance status via school email.

An induction ceremony for those accepted will be held in the Spring on May 6th at 6:00 pm in the Auditorium of Hartland High School.
